The Australian government has dropped plans to extend safe harbours in its revision of the country's copyright laws. The copyright safe harbour provisions currently in Australian legislation are defined to only protect Internet service providers.

Warner Music Group (WMG) is expanding and strengthening its business development team. Michael Drexler has been named VP, Digital Strategy & Corporate Development, and Allan Coye has been named VP, Digital Strategy & Business Development. Based in New York, both Drexler and Coye report to Ole Obermann, WMG's Chief Digital Officer & EVP, Business Development, and they are the first new hires by Obermann since he joined the company at the end of last year.

Keyboard legend Rick Wakeman has launched a pre-sale campaign on PledgeMusic for a very special limited edition Deluxe Box Set of his soundtrack “Crime of Passion”. Originally released in 1984 “Crimes of Passion” was directed by Ken Russell and starred Kathleen Turner, Anthony Perkins, John Laughlin and Annie Potts.
